Tuesday the 15th March 2016 was Proclamation Day. Our school received our National Flag and copies of the original Proclamation from members of the defense forces on 6th October 2015.
Our whole school was present for the ceremony yesterday. It began with the reading of the original Proclamation by Janine Nagle. Mr Brennan’s class played the tinwhistle. This was followed by six 6th Class students reading out our new Proclamation they wrote on behalf of our school.
Neill and Sean Sherlock raised the National Flag while the whole school sang our National Anthem. The ceremony was closed by our school choir singing ‘Molly Malone’.
It was great to join with other schools across the country in raising our flag on Proclamation Day.
