We have had a busy few weeks here in Room 2. Here’s what we go up to since our last post 🙂
Science week was so much fun. We were really lucky to get to complete a ‘Bricks for Kids’ workshop in the Breakfast Club. We made robots out of lego. We carried out some egg experiments in our classroom too. We found that 7 tablespoons of salt will make an egg float and that when an egg is left in vinegar, it turns into a bouncy ball! Luckily we tested our ‘bouncy’ egg in a bowl as it would have made a terrible mess in our classroom! We also learned about sound during science week. We discovered that sound is made when an object vibrates and that sound travels much slower than light. Check out these photos of us working as scientists!
We also enjoyed learning about the legend of Cúchulainn as part of History. A legend is an old Irish story that may or may not be true. We had great fun acting out the story in groups.
In Maths, we have been learning about 2D shapes and symmetry. We even worked on symmetry in Art by constructing symmetrical paper snowflakes. They make a lovely display in our corridor now!
During November, we got to work with clay in Art too. We made pinch pots and later in the month, we got really creative and made snowmen! Here’s a sneak peak at some of our clay work.
Finally, we are busy getting ready for our Christmas show at the minute. We can’t wait to perform it on stage next week.
Nollaig Shona Daoibh ó gach duine i Rang 3! 🙂
