On Friday we went on a trip to Kilmainham Gaol. We were really looking forward to it and it was amazing! During the week we studied the 1916 rising and the 7 signatories of the Proclamation. When we visited the jail, we got to see their prison cells. We even got to go inside some of them. We were in the chapel where Joseph Plunkett and Grace Gifford got married and we went out into the Stonebreaker’s Yard where the 1916 rising leaders were executed. It was such an interesting trip. Before we came back to school, we went across the road to IMMA and had our lunch in the secret garden there. Big thanks to Barbara and Tallaght Library for giving us the opportunity to go on this trip!
