Our class did a lot of project work on Fairtrade. We did an action project to help promote Fairtrade. Fairtrade garauntees a fair price for the producers of goods like coffee beans, cocoa, sugar beet, tea and cotton. A lot of these goods come from third world countries. We did an action project to promote Fairtrade, we did displays in our school and on our windows to promote it to others passing by in the community. We made a Fairtrade promotion film and showed it to all the classes and hosted a Fairtrade poster competition. The winners won Fairtrade chocolate and sweets. It was hard to judge because everyone made amazing posters. Thank you to all the pupils and teachers for helping us spread the word. Fairtrade.ie mailed us and thanked us for our work! Here’s a picture of our winners and one of our displays. Remember to look for the goods with the Fairtrade logo! Small changes make a huge difference!
